Meet and learn about the man who has made a splash by swimming across the Oceans, connecting the 5 Continents, and making a difference in vulnerable communities. His mission? To spur global awareness about the United Nations Millennium Development Goals and the commitments made by world leaders in 2000, and to invite people to raise their voices and demand that the promised political changes be achieved by 2015.
At the next Dominican Get Together in the Big Apple on April 19 we have an opportunity to show our support for Marcos’ work in promoting the UN’s Millennium Development Goals (eradicate extreme poverty and hunger; achieve universal primary education; promote gender equality and empower women; reduce child mortality rate; improve maternal health; combat HIV / AIDS, malaria and other diseases; ensure environmental sustainability; develop a global partnership for development).
