Dominican Get-Togethers in the Big Apple Hosts Literary Gathering
"A Life Among the Arts", with José Rafael Lantigua

New York, April 30, 2013

On Tuesday, June 25, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), in collaboration with FUNGLODE's esteemed publication Revista Global, will organize a discussion forum with acclaimed Dominican literary writer José Rafael Lantigua. The Literary Talk will take place from 6:00-9:00 pm at the Auditorium of Instituto Cervantes New York, located between second and third avenues at 211 East 49th Ave, NY 10017.

The evening will be an opportunity for the general public to meet with the distinguished writer, cultural manager and renowned Dominican literary figure, who has an extensive political and literary experience both at the national and international levels. Mr. Lantigua, also renowned as a former Dominican minister of Culture, will share his breadth of experience in both the literary and political fields, and give recommendations and some life accounts throughout the course of his prolific career.

The event forms part of GFDD's Dominican Get-togethers program, and is the first in a series of Literary Talks to take place in New York, which will serve to promote an appreciation of Dominican Literature and the Arts.

Dominican Get-Togethers, an initiative by Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) celebrated in the New York metropolitan area and throughout other cities in the United States responds to the need for the creation of spaces for discussion, reflection and celebration of topics related to Dominican culture and values. The Event forms part of the Foundations' mission to promote the understanding and appreciation of the Dominican culture, values and heritage, and to create opportunities for discussions of contemporary issues relevant to the Dominican society in the homeland and abroad.
